Graduated from Simon Fraser University (In British Columbia, Canada) in 2013
This is my fifth year teaching in Texas and I am so excited to be working in Dayton at Stephen F. Austin Elementary!
I am currently teaching Kindergarten in Room # 4.
Before coming to Texas I worked at Urban Academy Independent School located in New Westminster, British Columbia. During the 2013-2014 school year I worked as a teacher-on-call in classes ranging from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5. I returned to Urban Academy as a Grade One teacher for the 2014- 2015 school year.
Before becoming a teacher I worked for 5 years as a Behavior Interventionist for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I was closely involved with families, schools and other professionals in the role to provide a consistent program for children on an individual and small group basis.
I also have experience getting kids moving as a dance instructor working in a variety of styles for 6 years.
I have lots of pets on my growing little farm. In years past some special visitors have made their way into the classroom for visits with the students.
When not teaching I am often working with the animals on my farm, crocheting, knitting, or making yummy creations out of the berries and honey collected on the farm!
